41 Years
Forty-one years ago today, Kristina Nelson and Brandy Miller were murdered. Steven Pearsall vanished from the Civic Theater, and hasn’t been seen since. Anniversaries like this one serve as sober reminders of what happened, even if we don’t know why. But it takes more than anniversaries to keep these cases active, fresh in our minds, and relevant. It takes intentionality, commitment, and, well, all of us doing whatever we can to help bring justice to the families.
My hope is that this podcast has helped, even if in some small way, move the needle. Even if we can just keep people—listeners like you—talking about the cases and thinking about the cases, then these victims will not die the second death of being forgotten. And I think we have been successful in that regard. The audience has grown exponentially and has done so organically. I have said it before and I will say it again: that is all because of you. So, thank you.
Also on this anniversary, I want to share with you that I have recently made a significant discovery, and I cannot wait to finish up this episode so that I can share it with you all. I can also report that since I have been back from my hiatus, the team has sprung back into action chasing down a trove of new leads. There is A LOT of content still to be shared. More twists and turns. More discoveries and inquiries, and more to reveal.
So as we reflect on what happened 41 years ago and the desperate need for justice all these many years later, think too about how you might be able to help. It feels like we are at a place of critical mass, and I want to leverage that energy in the pursuit of truth. How you help out is up to you. If you are good at searching online, do that. If you have a lead, run it down. If you don’t have time for that kind of work, just help spread the word about the show. Also consider supporting the show, and leaving a review. Because again, it has been 41 years, and the time is now.
